Congratulations to Ghent - the EU City for Fair and Ethical Trade 2019!
The Award was presented to Deputy Mayor Tine Heyse by EU Commissioner for Trade, Ms. Cecilia Malmström, and Executive Director of the International Trade Centre, Ms. Arancha González.
The ceremony provided a unique opportunity for the Award winner, Special Mentions and all shortlisted cities to present their achievements in driving sustainable consumption through fair and ethical trade. With a total of around 100 participants from cities, EU institutions, the UN, civil society and the private sector, the ceremony provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences.
